The Philips Respironics System One REMstar SE™ CPAP Machine is an entry level single pressure CPAP machine with many features found in the 60 Series line of machines.
Philips Respironics offers Flex technology on the REMstar SE CPAP. It is a pressure relief system which makes the breathing process more natural and comfortable. The Flex feature of the REMstar SE senses the breathing pattern for approximately 5 breaths and bases the level of pressure relief at the time of exhalation on the breathing rate and pressure needs of the user. The Flex technology can be set to 1, 2 or 3. It can also be turned off and there will not be a pressure drop at the time of exhalation.
The LED display screen of the REMstar SE displays the 7 and 30 Day Average number of hours used. Step through the available information using the screen menu. The REMstar SE also has an on-board memory which holds up to 6 months of data. Or use an optional generic SD card to store compliance information for up to 1 year. Using either the on-board or SD card to store data, the most recent data will be held in storage. To state it another way, the first data in will be the first data to fall out when capacity is reached.
Philips Respironics includes this advanced feature which lets the machine consider the resistance of the mask to provide a consistent level of pressure. The System One Resistance Control number is stamped on mask by PR.
The LED display of the REMstar SE provides information about the machine and setting. The buttons of the machine are used to move through the various menu items relating to the operation. Information includes:
A ramp is a comfort feature used to help ease the user into sleep. It can be set to start the pressure flow at a lower level than the prescribed therapy pressure and over a selected period of time the pressure gradually increases to the prescribed pressure. The ramp time on the SE CPAP can be set from 0 to 45 minutes and can start as low as 4 cmwp. The ramp feature is not required for CPAP therapy and can be set turned off.
Weighing just 3 lbs and only 7" x 5.5" in size, the REMstar SE CPAP machine is travel friendly. It comes with a carry case designed to accommodate the optional heated humidifier, tube and mask.
